Bumble Up Scarf

Wow that was fast.

Bumble Upbright

Pattern: Bumble Up Scarf (Ravelry Link)
Yarn: Spud & Chloe Outer in Soapstone & Flannel
Size 11 circs
1 fabu button!

I cannot tell you how much I wanted to make this scarf since I first saw the cute tease cards that Spud & Chloe sent to Patricia's. I love just the look of the honeycomb stitch, and its unbelievably SUPER easy. (I really mean it this time! Really!)

On top of it all it was superfast to knit up. I started this scarf yesterday afternoon at around 3pm, took it with me to happy hour and finished it this afternoon. The yarn is soft and shed only a little bit. I would so use this again for another scarf and maybe a matching hat.

Time to pump the AC in my apartment so I can wear this around for a while before I have to store it for the winter.

This weekend is a Spud & Chloe celebration at Patricia's Yarns! Come on by to test the yarn, view this gorgeous scarf and maybe take some yarn home for your own.

Happy Knitting!

All good things must come to an end...

But this one doesn't really end because the fun is just beginning! We are so excited about this 2009 TNNA show. We are coming home to 'Jersey' shortly very excited about some new purchases. We have ordered more Koigu than ever, acquired 2 new yarn lines, spent a great time with friends while making new ones & are enjoying a pre-flight vino ready to return to Hoboken.

We look forward to showing you all our 'shwag' as well as sharing stories from the trip. Hope you have enjoyed reading our updates as much as we enjoyed doing them! See you Tuesday!

Sweet dreams,
Patricia & Margaux

Day Three

We are sitting in the Drury with our favorite sales rep (Rowan, Manos, Misti, Fibre Company), Antonia, thinking about the great day we had at the show. We are pooped from all the knit excitement!

Above isone of our signed books, Vintage Baby Knits, a note pad from Blue Sky, a skein of superior & our ring for ordering Mac & Me. It is so fun seeing friends!

It all started at Lorna's Laces. We beelined right over to our favorite yarn line to put in an order for the fall. A few color choices later and we were feeling mission accomplished and it was only 10:30am!

Our next stop was at the Fibre Company and we got to meet Kate and Courtney the distributors. You know them best as the distributors for our "crack" yarn, Road to China. Kate has some great designs that are showcased on their website and a popular pattern coming out in the Fall Knitscene. (Margaux's pretty excited about that one!)

We got to see so many great knit designers and industry influencers including Veronik Avery, Norah Gaughn, Kate Gilbert(Twist Collective), Teva Durham and Stacey Charles (Takhi Stacey Charles).

From our book distributor we got a few great books to show you including one that we believe was made with us in mind called Pints and Purls. How can you not love a pattern book that has drunken knits!? We also were particularly excited about the Vintage Baby knits book which Margaux can't stop looking at.

We also got to stop at the Mac & Me booth and see the great new designs by Leslie Scanlon. Patricia enjoyed the new Mac&Me patterns as well as Margaux modeling some of the garments - especially the bling we got for our new fall order!!

Another new yarn that we are excited to bring to you is Aslan Fibers. This great wool is soft and has a beautiful palette of colors.

Our last stop was at Blue Sky and their new line, Spud & Chloe! The new line is fantastic and we cannot wait to get it in for you to enjoy. It's such a great line that even Margaux forgot her inner monologue and exclaimed for joy as our order was being made. It caught the Blue Sky rep a little off guard but she said it was understandable ;).

We snapped a few photos from the Rowan booth,
The actual new magazine, number 46, which we will have to wait to receive along with the ball of Lima & an image from the Lima Collection.

The cover image from their new book the Lima Collection with a ball of it which we are very excited about.

Getting ready to head out for dinner with Beth & Michael from Lorna's, Antonia, Craig & Mark from Loop & the two of us! All in all a great knitting day! We cannot believe we have to leave tomorrow.

The Friday re-cap!

Margaux made it in after a few delays out of Newark & we enjoyed a delicious lunch & coffee at North Market.
It might not look like much but inside that building is every type of food we could ever desire that we can always find in our fantastic home base of Hoboken. Although, they do have one thing we don't... Jennis....

Classes went well in the afternoon and then it was on to the fashion show. The show was full of interesting finished garments as well as accessories that were very fun to see. We were very pleased by some of the new garments from Blue Sky Alpacas & Spud + Chloe.

This image from the screen of the fashion show is one of the new 'sweater' weight designs from Spud & Chloe.

Due to the nature of the show photography was difficult... but there were new designs that were very inspiring & we hope to have a better look tomorrow during the actual market.

After the show we had dinner with Craig, Mark, Antonia & Carol which was very fun as expected.

Currently, no surprise, Margaux & I are sharing some vino at Bar 23 where we have some free wireless as well as free entertainment before the nights end.

Hope to bring you more fun tomorrow!
Sweet dreams!

Welcome to Ohio

Early this overcast morning Riley went to the sitters & I took a cab to Newark for a direct flight to Ohio.It was a fine quick flight through the clouds.

And then I wasn't in Newark anymore.... welcome to Ohio!!

Heather, Adams cousin, picked me up from the airport and we went for a bite to eat, then headed to the hotel. I got a little settled in & then it was time to head to registration. On our way we passed the "Great Wall of Yarn" which has some favorites and some yarns we just have never seen the likes of before.
This was a traditional wool, about a worsted weight but it had these faux gold strands of chain attached to it so they dangled off the knitting - I have never before seen anything like it but that is why I come to this show! To see new things ;)

Then we noticed a new yarn from Rowan called Lima which I have ordered & look forward to receiving in the fall. I thought they put together a cute display.

Tomorrow I will be taking a new class from Cat Bordhi, Margaux arrives (YAY) and then we have a few events in the early evening including the fashion show which is always fun. Looking forward to updating you tomorrow! Have a great day!

Yarn-palooza Eve

Thursday morning I will be leaving New Jersey & flying to Columbus, Ohio for what some are calling yarn-palooza.

Imagine if you will a huge place much like the Javits Center with row after row of booths, filled with different kinds of yarns as far as your knit eyes can see! Knitting inspiration everywhere. It doesn't look like much but it will be full of fun this weekend!!!

One of my goals this weekend is to check out our old favorites and see what new things I can bring to you and hopefully find something new for the both of us!

Another goal will to be to taste as many Jeni's flavors as possible! I'm sure Margaux will help!

While there I will also be taking a few classes, viewing all the vendors yarn, and updating the blog daily to let you know how the show is going! So check back & see what we've been up to!
